Hey there!

We're Jeff & Brittany, two wine-loving travelers (or travel-loving wine-Os depending on the day!) and here you'll find the ins and outs of our journey. We share our best travel tips and must see locations, under the radar wines, hidden restaurants, and hints to taste wine like a pro across the globe. So, fellow Vino Vagabond, grab a glass (or two) and lets hit the road! Cheers!

The What Part 1: What We Packed for a Lifetime of Vino Vagabonding!

The What Part 1: What We Packed for a Lifetime of Vino Vagabonding!

Figuring out what to pack was one of the hardest parts of the whole pre-departure experience. Since we are Vino Vagabonding, we had to make sure to bring clothes durable enough for non-stop travel, and also professional enough for our visits to wineries and chateaus. Without a return date, we also needed clothes for all seasons.

We scoured the net for tips and packing suggestions from other travelers, and thought that Simon and Erin's packing list from "The Never Ending Voyage" was the best guideline.

Here's a list of what we ultimately brought with us to start our lives of vino, vagabonding and making a living on the road:

  • North Face backpack with expandable bottom for Britt
  • Kelty backpack for Jeff
  • "Big-ass blue bag" (Huge, very basic, travel bag on wheels)
  • 1 medium canvas travel shoulder bag
  • 1 large, foldable beach bag

  • Passports and 1 copy (left other with family)
  • drivers licenses (safer to carry on a daily basis than PP)
  • money belt
  • debit and 2 credit cards
  • vaccination records
  • $200 cash to exchange directly at the airport for taxi and any unexpected fee/need/problem
